Cascade Events continues to support Wokingham Mencap
Local marquee hire and event management company Cascade Events is continuing to support Wokingham Mencap through their new charity referral programme.
The programme is designed to encourage satisfied clients to pass on Cascade’s details to other people they know who may wish to use the company’s services by donating £50 to Wokingham Mencap for every marquee hire booking made as a result of a referral. The company hopes that the incentive will be enough to jog people’s memories whenever they hear of somebody planning a wedding, party, ball or other event and remind them to pass on Cascade’s details whilst also raising much needed funds for Wokingham Mencap. Cascade is also donating £2 for every client who completes their “After Job Satisfaction Survey”.

The season is upon us! Here at Cascade Events we are very much looking forward to a successful summer 2011 in partnership with all our clients.
We have also launched our Charity Referral Program to help a good cause and to reward our past clients who recommend us to their friends.

Oh dear! My best intentions to keep the news up to date appear to have fallen by the wayside slightly! It must be a result of 2010 being the busiest and most successful year ever for Cascade Events. Our foreman resigned suddenly and without warning in July but all of our chaps really stepped up to the plate, came completely out of their shells and did a great job.
2011 sees the formal launch of our furniture hire service which is targeted at other marquee companies as well as private clients. More details can be seen at www.cascadefurniture.co.uk.
The summer is already filling up fast and so if you have a need for a marquee during the peak months of May, June, July, August and September then please do get in touch ASAP!

Wow! Apologies for the lack of marquee
hire news recently but I have been so busy planning our packed
summer ahead that I haven't been able to get around to sorting
the website. We have had loads of marquee
hire jobs confirm and the furniture
hire side of the business is starting to take off as well
so it is looking like 2010 might end up being a good year in contrast
to 2009!
Other fantastic news is that Cascade Events Ltd has been short
listed for three awards in the National
Hire Excellence Awards. Our committment to customer service
has been recognized by our shortlisting for "Event Hire Company
of the Year (Single Outlet)" and for "Excellence in
Customer Service" and our forward thinking furniture hire
website (www.cascadefurniture.co.uk)
which allows customers to check stock levels and book online has
been shortlisted for Event Hire Website of the Year!
Looking forward several weekends are already fully booked over
the summer so do get in touch ASAP if you are planning on holding
a party or a wedding as you may miss out on using our fantastic
(see above) services!
January 2010
The snow has gone! I have to tell you that without wanting
to sound too much like a scrooge, runing a marquee company with
18 inches of snow on the ground (yes, there really was that much
in Reading) was not all that much fun! But with the help of perseverence,
the good natured attitudes of our clients, some careful driving
and enforced senses of humour we got through it. All tents which
were meant to be delivered were successfully delivered and all
our clients had fantastic Christmas and New Year parties because
of it!
With those busy marquee hire periods now finally behind us (we
really hadn't stopped since the season was meant to be over!)
we can get down to those jobs that we have been putting off whilst
hiring out our marquees. It is not, however, just a period of
retrenchment! The end of December and the start of January saw
the arrival of our huge stock of new furniture! Along with the
extra stock we have launched a new furniture hire website www.cascadefurniture.co.uk
where you can make furniture hire bookings online!
Moving into 2010 we have plenty to keep us busy, loads of exciting
enquiries coming in and we are already fully booked for three
weekends over the summer and that's after we have bought the significant
amounts of new marquees which will be arriving in May!
Onwards and upwards!
October 2009
Phew! The business of the summer is finally behind us!
We can now take a bit of a breather, go on our holidays and start
planning next year!
It is meant to be a relaxing time for us, with the
summer rush over but it doesn't appear to be working that way!
First of all there is all the maintainence to do including: cleaning
all our PVC covers to make them sparkle, buffing and polishing
our dancefloor, repainting all of our tables, repainting our solid
doors, cleaning, polishing, PAT testing, buying new equipment,
testing, sorting, replacing and expanding!
On top of that we are planning our very exciting
business expansion. As of 10th December 2009 we will be launching
Cascade Furniture Hire which will be an arm of the business specialising
in the delivery of quality event furniture. We already have over
300 folding black samsonite chairs for hire at a cost of just
£1.45 if you order over 100 of them!

We are right in the middle of our busiest time of the year, although
saying that it feels like the last two months have been the busiest
time of the year! Having provided the marquee for Wargrave festival
with great success and the St Andrew's school ball going fantastically
we seem to have moved away from our large jobs and are now providing
marquees and event management at many more intimate events including
several weddings which have all gone absolutely superbly despite
the "unsettled" weather!
August is a very busy month for Cascade with lots
of events including Wokingham Festival over the bank holiday weekend
and we can't yet look forward to a break as September is filling
up fast too!
June 2009
The silly season is almost upon us! The weather is picking
up and we have already had two fantastic weddings in the sunshine
at the end of May. The whole team is looking forward to getting
out on site over the next few weeks and providing our clients
with the quality marquees we have become reknowned for.
We are pleased to welcome Stephen Guinpen onto the
full time team at Cascade he will be concentrating on managing
our maintenance and cleaning programme as well as assisting with
on-site delivery.
We are looking forward to our big jobs towards the
end of June. We are very pleased to once again be providing the
marquee for The Wargrave Festival and we are looking forward to
working with St Andrews School in Pangbourne for the first time
this year.
March 2009
As the season starts to fill up with bookings we get
to the usual frustration that everybody wants to book our services
for the same weekends. So, if you are thinking of making an enquiry
please do get on with it ASAP! It has been a busy couple of months
with winter business and, of course, that all important maintainance
to make sure our marquee equipment and furniture looks fantastic
when we hire it out over the summer. We have also been shopping
for bits of marquee! We now have some new solid, wooden framed
doors, to add that extra touch of style during the summer months
or keep you insulated in winter. In addition to this we have expanded
our 6m stock as we are finding it is become more and more popular
especially amongst the events companies we work with. Add to this
some 2m walkway with walls we have bought brand new from Losberger
in France.
Cascade Events is always keen to expand the work
we do with venues and after a successful partnership agreement
last year with The
Olde Bell, Hurley we were delighted to attend their wedding
open day on 15th March. The day was a great success and we look
forward to working there over the summer.
January 2009
We have started the new year with one of coldest snaps
that we can remember, although perhaps we are just out experiencing
it more this year than before! Despite the near arctic conditions
January has not been a month of hibernation. On Sunday 4th January,
having taken down our NYE party tents, Cascade Events took part
in the Bridal Fayre at Cantley
House Hotel, Wokingham. Cascade are the exclusive providers
of marquees and marquee equipment to Cantley House Hotel and Court
Lodge and the aim for 2009 is for Cantley to be selling many more
marquee weddings than before. The hotel is delighted that they
can now cater for up to 400 people seated and dining in style
and comfort which has dramatically improved on the 80 that they
had been advertising before. The day was a fantastic success and
has already led to confirmed bookings for marquee weddings at

The rest of January is a little quieter than the
start but with a few large jobs lined up, we will certainly be
kept busy. Chris Monk is especially busy this month as everybody
seems to have decided to start planning their marquees for the
summer in the same 10 day window and so he is rushing around the
countryside meeting clients and seeing sites.
