In case you have not hired a marquee before, we have put together a few questions that you might find useful to
ask your marquee supplier before placing an order. We've included our answers!
1) Do we pay extra for window walls or the number of exits/entrances provided?
Cascade pricing includes windows to one whole side and one end of the marquee as standard and you
can have as many entrances as you need. The marquee sides can be up or down, depending on the
weather. We do charge more for emergency fire exits.
2) Does your quotation include the cost of insurance, transport, labour and construction?
Cascade's pricing incorporates all of these elements, however please see our terms and conditions for
details on insurance.
3) Do we have to pay more if the surface for the marquee is not all on level grass?
Cascade do charge extra for securing the marquee to a hard surface and this would be assessed
during a site visit.
4) What kind of matting do you fit as standard? Is it laid onto a polythene membrane?
Cascade's matting is called Dandydura, which is smooth surfaced, natural coloured matting and is fine for heels. It is laid onto a polythene membrane and is most suitable for events in the summer time. We
can also provide a solid floor with new event carpet fitted on top and we can advise on the additional
charge incurred.
5) How will you provide electrical power for the marquee? - See marquee power advice
Cascade would assess this during a site visit and advise on the most cost effective solution for your
venue. We own our own 20KVa generators which are serviced regularly. All of the electrics we install
meet British Standard 7909:2008 "Code of practice for temporary electrical systems for entertainment
and related purposes" and BS7671:2008 "Requirements for Electrical Installations, IEE Wiring
Regulations 17th Edition".
6) If hiring furniture, do you set it out within the marquee where we'd like it or do you expect us to
arrange all furniture?
Cascade always place the tables, chairs etc where our customer would like them.
7) Do you provide a 24 hour dedicated hotline in case a problem develops during the event and we need help?
Cascade's is 07943 468 025. We also publish all our staff mobile numbers in our website so you can
speak directly to us at any time of the day or (as occasionally happens) night!
8) Can we provide our preferred dates for construction and dismantling of the marquee?
Cascade will always consider the customer's timetable and accommodate preferences as much
possible. If we know your requirements when booking we will guarantee to meet them.
9) Could we possibly see one of your marquees at another customer's event before making up
our mind and can you provide referrals from previous customers?
Cascade are always delighted to arrange a preview of a marquee and the gallery page and testimonial
section of our website are regularly updated.
10) What are your payment terms?
Cascade ask for a 25% deposit and then the remaining balance is due 7 days before the agreed
construction date.
