When marquees are constructed we have to bang pretty big stakes (ground anchors) into the ground to make sure they stay where we put them and do not blow away.

Some companies will ask the client to confirm whether the area is free of underground utilities and if you are not sure they will ask you to arrange for a scan at your own expense.

At Cascade Events we have the equipment (a wonderfully named Cable Avoidance Tool) which will scan the ground and will tell you if a cable is in place.

This is in line with the MUTA Guidelines for the safe construction and use of marquees and temporary structures.
